The Delhi government health department has initiated the expansion of free testing facilities by outsourcing and appointing private labs to provide 450 types of tests for free to patients.

A health official told that the expansion to conduct free tests would benefit patients as many tests were costly and patients were unable to avail them.

Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics hospitals conducted 212 types of tests free of cost, while in government hospitals the number varied. In some hospitals around 250 types of tests including blood collection, urine, etc were free, several super speciality facilities conducted around 400 tests while dispensaries had special facilities for testing.
